Still now didnt understood the purpose of constructing this escalator on of 2/3 where mostly trains from kolkata side arrives. It would have been more useful if it would have been constructed on of 4/5 where long distance trains arrive. Passengers with lots of luggages then could have used it
I think there are plans to build one more escalator on pf 4 and 5. This one has been build for the daily commuters as the suburban trains arrives on pf 2 or 3
