Interiors of the coaches will be more aesthetic and will be decorated with pictures of various cultures and places of bengal. Seats of the coaches also has been for better comfort and the toilets also has been upgraded

ER is too some extend a Kolkata based zone. U will see whenver any new project is undertaken mostly Kolkata based stations/trains are considered for that. Same happend with Project swarna or Project Utkrisht also, only trains of Hwh and Sdah div were included
What is use of upgrading an icf coach when eventually all train will be lhb fied
It will be a waste of money in the part of railways because these icf rakes would return to its old condition within 2months
Yes eventually all trains will get LHB rake but providing LHB rake to all trains will not be completed before the next 20-30 years or may be more than that also. Till then these ICF rakes can be used.
If Ratna exp gets LHB, then these upgraded rakes can be given to some other train like asn Cst exp, asn gd exp, asn gkp exp. When those trains will also get LHB, these rakes can be transferred to some other division and their trains can used these rakes

I would like to rectify ur statement that it will take 20 to 30 years to lhbfy all trains in india.it will take 5 to 6 years only as no of lhb rakes production has drastically increased .more over i think investment in upgrading icf coaches are pure waste of money. Because one is getting neither speed nor safety nor comfort. I bet these icf coaches will return to its pathetic form in just 1month. It will be better if railway stops wasting money in upgrading these icf rakes but rather use it in production of more and more lhb rakes
