* Trunk line of SECR (NGP to JSG) is highly saturated with very heavy freight traffic. Third line is just not sufficient neither freight trains are running amoothly nor the SF trains are able to maintain desirable speed.
* DFC from NGP to JSG (in fact upto TATA) should be immediately taken up as phase-1 of the proposed Mumbai-Howrah east-West DFC, to ensure smooth train operation on the premier freight route of IR.
