the Union Cabinet clearing 100 per cent electrification of all the broad-gauge (BG) routes of the Indian Railways by 2021-22, the national transporter is working on a master plan to convert its entire fleet of about 5,500 diesel locomotives into electric ones at less than half the cost of refurbishment of diesel engines.

I don't know that but there's some tender on RVNL website regarding bridge adjustment. Hope they are doing for electrification or what.
If bridge is adjusted, then station needs adjustments.... because the level they will need. Else they will have to make it at same level by some new idea...
This government is always ready for new things. During this NDA government only we are seeing doubling of Ahmedabad- Ajmer and Gulbarga-Bhigwan doubling being speeded up. Before NDA they never thought of doubling, electrification, gauge conversion . After 10 years finally they have done a trial on Takkolam-Arakkonam section on 12-10-2018. Now only Electrification is left. Look at NFR the electrification have entered there for the first time in history in several years. If NDA stays for another 10 years face of Indian Railways can change..
Even WAP5 and WAG9 (WAP7 is exactly the same as a WAG9, but with different gear ratio) were built by ABB, which was a reputed manufacturer, but it took IR more than 10 years to perfect them start mass production.
It doesn't matter who builds it. Locomotives are very complicated machines and the design and optimization takes many years.
