This is politics. What purpose does it serve other than burying the history of the past 500 years and the contribution of the Mughals to this place? What was the motive for saying 'Akbar ki nishani ko mita kar'? Even though this place is called Allahabad, 'Prayag' itself is well known and taught about in school history.
No offence meant, but it is really ridiculous that politicians who don't do anything but use regional,religious and caste issues to win elections are talking about removing all traces of an emperor who built a fort and a great city here.
