I have a question , say i have a confirmed ticket from CSTM to Kanpur and the train stops at bhopal and for change of plans i want to get down at bhopal. How may i go about doing the change in the ticket? or if its possible?

no not possible to do it before journey...you can cancel it and rebook...
Refund will be the fare charged on the ticket minus the fare upto the deboarding point...for eg.tkt is from cape to hwh with fare rs.500(for eg.),and you deboard at vskp(fare from cape to vskp rs.300),so 200rs.will be refunded...again not sure,it has been 12 long years i had got the refund back...but then this was the rule...

i am not sure whether the tte is well known to railway rules...i have met many tte and other railway staffs who are unaware of many rules...you need to talk to the station master...as he is entitled to issue the certificate hence he should be aware of the latest rules...

no,the station master at your intended deboarding point...who is entitled to issue you the short of destination ticket surrender certificate...
