There are many advantages of having LHB coaches in trains. LHB coaches are anti-telescopic. These coaches do not penetrate into the adjacent coaches in case of accidents, due to use of Centre Buffer Coupling (CBC), instead of dual Buffer system. The LHB coaches are longer than conventional coaches, this enhances the seating capacity. These coaches require less maintenance. These coaches are lower cost when compared to ICF coaches.
