Expectations - An utterly bad, dirty rake courtsey to previous blogs about NR maintainance.
What I got:
1. Cleanliness & Maintainance -...
more... very good. Swarna rake, vestibules and toilets were clean and maintained properly. No leaking taps and dry floor. The passenger area was clean too. OBHS did their work after the meal and in morning. Bedrolls were packed and clean with hand towel present inside it.
2. Charging points - All the charging points were working coach. No loose fittings or something like that.
3. Catering - After departure from Delhi, a newspaper (hindustan/hindustan times) is given and food preference for dinner and breakfast is taken. You can opt either veg or non veg both times or once veg and once non veg. All choice is yours. After this Snacks is served (popcorn, samosa, sonpapdi, sauce, tea kit). Cold samosa. Not good but not too bad. Dinner is good and is served before Kanpur (For Kanpur boarding their preference is taken as soon as they board and dinner + water bottle is provided). The food was nice and as per the menu. Food is succeeded by Amul ice cream vanilla flavour. In morning, morning tea with 2 biscuits is served before barkakana and after departure from Barkakana breakfast. In non veg omlette with brown bread, butter, sauce, bar one chocolate with tea kit is served. Omlette was ice cold and with lot of chillies. Surprisingly it was loaded at Barkakana at apt timings of breakfast, still it was cold. 3.5/5 for food. After breakfast time for tips. Whatever given accepted with smile. Avg was 30 rs per person. I gave 30, a group of 3 gave 100.
4. Security - RPF present all the way from Delhi to Ranchi with change in duties.
5. Punctuality - Its rajdhani, its punctual. 15-20 min delay may occur due to crossing b/w barkakana and muri.
6. Sightseeing/railfanning - Witness the sunrise in the jungles of CIC section. Regarding railfanning, you will get constant 130kph run right after chipiyana buzurg.
