**********For Your Kind Attention Plz.*********
Dear Railfans.
Do you know what is a Diamond Crossing?
I know whenever the word "Diamond Crossing" comes, a picture pop-ups in our mind that is "The Nagpur Diamond Crossing". Many You-Tube Videos says that this is only and only Diamond Crossing in India. Is it true that Nagpur Crossing Is really a Diamond Crossing and this is

only one in India?. Let's First try to classify crossings:-
We can broadly classify crossings in three types:
(i know it can be classified in more than three ways. But again i am saying that I am classifying broadly)
1. Square Crossing (in which two tracks cross each other at 90 deg. angles.)
2. Acute crossing (in which two rails(not track) cross each other in such a way that angles made in between them is less than 90 deg.)
3. Obtuse Crossing( in which two tracks cross each other at an angle greater than 90 deg. This crossing is also known as Diamond Crossing).
I have attached two pics. First one is of Square Crossing and second one is Obtuse Crossing or "Diamond Crossing". Now it is clear that what is a Diamond Crossing and what is a Square Crossing.
Now coming to point that whether Nagpur Crossing is Diamond Crossing or Not(Many of you may be thinking that it is Square Crossing). But answer is Yes. It is a Diamond Crossing. So why Nagpur Crossing is Diamond not Square. We have seen in images that it looks like both lines are crossing at each other at 90 deg.But in reality they crosses each other at angle greater than 90 deg.(In images it looks like they are making 90 deg angle. This is due to the angle of Photography).Therefor Nagpur Crossing is Diamond Crossing.
Nagpur Crossing is not lonely Diamond Crossing in India. There is plenty of these type of crossings in India.(Square Crossing is rare). Go and Locate in your Home-Station. Also Post pics here. Comments are Welcomed.

Tell me first how would you be able to differentiate between acute and obtuse crossings? You have to be able to take a line of reference here first then.
