LHB coaches are much safer than traditional ICF coaches and have many modern features. It's not just manufacturing materials, the basic design of the LHB coaches is very different from that of the traditional ICF coaches.
Note that, while they are doing a good job, the traditional ICF coaches are based on a design that came out in 1955. While ICF has had improved the design over the years, the basic design of the ICF coaches is still based on a 60 year old Swiss coach design. LHB coaches are newer designs with many more features that improve safety, ride quality and in general a big upgrade over the existing coaches.
