were at the scene for nearly three hours containing the fuel spill and have now left the area.
A Department of Environment and Conservation pollution response unit were sent to the crash.
The 425km MR line which runs from Millendon Junction to Narngulu will be closed until future notice as Brookfield Rail assesses the extent of damage to the tracks.
All 15 services scheduled to take place over the next week have been cancelled.
Brookfield Rail chief executive Paul Larsen said it was lucky nobody was seriously injured in the incident.
“The potential for serious harm or even death is very real and completely preventable,” Mr Larsen said.
Local police, representatives from the Shire of Gingin, QR National and Brookfield Rail are on the scene.
