Now a days the new rakes of Metro Rail across the country are being imported from China. Do you support it?
**Pic Courtesy: The Metro Rail Guy. A model chinese rake has been shown. Actual rakes may look different from the model shown.

An ICF rake recently caught fire in Kolkata metro prompting investigations... Hopefully he ICF engineers would find the technical problems and get the rakes better. Furthermore the rakes coming from China are quite cheap compared to the ones from Europe or even from India. These metro services are independently managed after construction, hence the actual and maintenance charges also come into play to keep the ticket prices down, both of which are advantageous to the CRRC Rolling stocks. We should encourage Indian products, but unfortunately none of the independent entities would buy them if they have better products available in market. Kolkata metro bought the ICF rakes because during the time of purchase it was a part of IR. Now after...

struggling with them they are going for the more proven and cost effective solution.
