In a recent trip to Hassan, I decided to ditch the usual 16515 Yeshvantpur Karwar Intercity; though it would have cost me about half the amount I spent on this train – 11311 Solapur Hassan Express. But I was glad in the end; for 2 main reasons; 1. I was pleasantly surprised to see this train pull in before time by about 15 mins; that too with a neat and clean Utkrisht Rake. I have seen the Udyan express with Utkrisht rake belonging to the same Coaching depot, but wasn’t impressed by its paint job, this was a much better looking rake; and 2. The train was nearly empty all the way to Hassan, thanks to 16515 taking away the entire crowd. Thus, it was a peaceful Journey all the way. I would highly recommend this train for those who...

Train was introduced in 2012; as 22133/34 Hassan Solapur Superfast Express. It was a weekly service when introduced and later frequency was increased to 3 days a week, before being made daily in mid 2014. After opening of Nelamangala Shravanabelagola section of Yeshvantpur Hassan Rail Line; the train was extended to Hassan in mid 2018.
