amitkasba~ 945 blog poststhis is very popular jan shatabdi so its number of coachs should be increased to atleast 16.. kota JS, kozhikod JS runs with 17-18 coaches so there should not be any problem with running a jan shatabdi with 16-17 coaches..

yes this train should run with 15 2s coaches and 3-CC coaches.
stop some idiotic and useless trains using lhb coaches and give it to this train no problem even if train is double Decker
This maybe the solution, if the tat of 20 min is maintained during the non-monsoon situation. In the monsoon season one rake has to be lying at Mao for 22 hours, which means 16 coaches (double) would be needed in the monsoon time table to maintain the train with 8 extra coaches. Maybe they would have an inventory problem of excess in the non monsoon period. I am not sure that it makes a difference, but JS is already among the high speed trains on this route at 64KMpH. I think there are speed restrictions.

Yes, I too feel the passenger demand will be met if the JS coaches are doubled. However, I feel doubledecker may not be a solution because of the large number of tunnels. But then I maybe wrong as the height of a DD coach is only 5 inches or so more than normal coaches. Also having double decker coaches will not help people who are on 2S because of lower fares.
