Railways should not charge cancellation fees on E-Tickets which do not get confirmed and automatically get cancelled. They should charge only for the tickets cancelled by passengers. This is unfair that Railways deduct charges for waitlisted tickets which are not confirmed after chart preparation. Can a mass petition in Supreme Court be filed for this? I urge members of Indiarailinfo to start a movement against Railways to remove cancellation charges on tickets not confirmed.

One option i can suggest... instead of making refund to passengers, railways can keep the amount with them and can adjust the amount for future transactions. this way passengers can save cancellation charges and railways do not have to process refunds. some other changes also be done, like.. if someone wants his/her money back, he can do so by asking IRCTC to refund the amount with some banking charges etc.
