Found this very old photo from internet
The AC deluxe express the Rajdhanis predecessor and current Poorva Exp interiors shot in 1956 September.
Just think of the status of these people travelling in AC coach then....

This is probably an inaugural special or a trial run of the deluxe express. The regular running of the deluxe express started from 2nd October, 1956 from Howrah.
They are mostly middle class people, as AC/CC back then was the equivalent of today's 3rd A/C.

There were no 3 tier A/C sleeper coaches back then. Before independence, there was only 1st class A/C, as they felt that only the 1st class passengers would prefer to spend money on A/C travel.
Deluxe (Poorva and Paschim) trains were the first trains to get A/C chair car to cater to second class and third class passengers. Shortly afterwards, A/C 2 tier sleeper too started.
