RailFans don't miss their train. Why? Because they go to the station HOURS before the actual departure of their Train - to watch OTHER trains depart. - Prince Maan

I guess for long running locals like this one, some halts like Dhakuria, Baghajatin, Narendrapur etc can definitely be skipped....
Dhakuria can easily be catered by Ballygunge, Baghajatin by Jadabpur and Narendrapur by Sonarpur....
For trains as long as Namkhana, already running on the slower SDAH south tracks, halting at the drop of a hat really makes no sense...

Sir not i think so possible what about passengers from Namkhana or other station to Dhakuria, Baghajatin and Vice-versa station then have to board and deboard and some other station and return back catching other trains think of them too.
Yesterday i went to Dhakuria stn for 1st time i saw it was quite busy station. Dont know about Baghajatin and Narendrapur stations but i feel those are big areas of Kolkata so rush will be huge there. So removing stoppages from these big stations i think not possible.

For Namkhana bound trains this can be easily tried out as Bln and dhk are practically at 'stone throw' distance from each other, and reaching dhakuria from either ballygunge/jadavpur is never going to be an issue...
