Reason:
1. There are only 2 express trains (TATA-YPR & HWH-YPR) on Saturdays between BZA and Bengaluru that reach Bengaluru in the early morning and they're always 100% occupied as they come from a long distance.
2. There are only 3 express trains (SBC-BBS, YPR-HWH & BNC - GHY) from Bengaluru to BZA that reach BZA in the morning and they're always 100% occupied as they are bound to a long distance.
3. 12291/2 Express runs with empty seats most of the time and the rake stays idle for a long time at MAS. Through this extension, the occupancy of the train can be increased as well as the train can be utilized to the maximum.
Current Rake Layover Time at MAS: Approx: 17 hours on Saturday.
Expected Layover Time at BZA after extension: Approx. 3.5 hours on Saturday.
Expected Halts: GDR, NLR, OGL, TEL.
Also, please check the feasibility of bypassing the train via PER.
