Why does some trains originating from Chennai don't get wap 7
Like gt tn and sometimes mas rajdhai and all three of them are prestigious trains

Ever since Kerala Express got LHB rakes, it has been getting WAP7 locos from various loco sheds. Prior to that, it had LSA with 12621/22.
12621/22 runs with ICF rakes and does not require HOG. So, a normal WAP7 without HOG is adequate. 12626/25 gets HOG loco from different loco sheds - RPM, ED, LGD, GZB, TKD, CNB, ET, AQ etc as it runs with LHB rakes.
Regular link of 12616/15 GT Express is a WAP4 from AJJ/ED. Sometimes it gets a WAP7 as offlink. But mostly, it is hauled by a WAP4....

Yes. The loco which hauls 12621 up to NDLS, comes back to MAS with 12622. Likewise, the loco which hauls 12615 up to NDLS, hauls 12616 too. There is no LSA between GT Express and Tamil Nadu Express.
have you personally observed kerala running on HOG ? every time ? for example 303 series of RPM are not HOG but they do haul Kerala, HOG is no constraint for a LSA de-link and there is no rule that a train needs to be hauled by a specific type of WAP7, all i want to say is there is no guarantee that a LSA can be followed, as long as there is a wap-7 power available at a trip shed it will be sent with a train, else the next in line is a WAP-4 from either home zone to begin with, if that is also not available then the next available WAp4 is sent.
