Pune has less connectivity with Konkan and goa
Especially for konkan passengers it ll be useful from Pune

Which is why I wrote that you need a dedicated train from PUNE to Goa and no need to divert a train coming from NGP towards PUNE.
What's the problem if journey increase by 2 hours

You can also check the route of Vasco Jasidih Express its covers 271 kms more here. Plus also Check the Vindhyanchal Express as well it covers 17 - 18 hours extra to reach Bhopal from Itarsi via Jabalpur.
