Status of Rail Route between Bishnupur to Arambag as on 30/09/2019 as per the project summary report by Eastern Railway.
"The main work Tarkeshwar – Bishnupur (82.47 km) – New line - Work was sanctioned in 2000-01 and cost of the project is Rs 480.68 Cr. Tarkeshwar –Goghat (33.94 km) New line – Commissioned on 06.03.2016 Mayonapur – Bishnupur (22.68 km) New line – Commissioned on 16.09.2012 Section Goghat – Kamarpukur (5.50 km) was completed during 2018-19 except 950m stretch where the work is stopped by local villagers at Bhabadighi pond. State Govt. is pursued repeatedly. Balance section Kamarpukur - Mayonapur (20.35 KM) falling 3.3Km for Hoogly district and 17.05 Km is in Bankura district. Good status update....
Because of this land aquisition problem many projects in WB totally stopped.
Say for eg. BOWAICHANDI- KHANA New line project totally CLOSED by Railways..many others are there mostly affected is SER.
