Shailesh_Nisargan_railfan 32 blog postsMP of mysuru hav proposed extension of 3trains, and in this proposed udyan express extension upto mysuru..
Not against this extension. But is this extension necessary? Bangalore being capital of Karnataka and also IT capital of India & Mumbai commercial capital of India, is there any dedicated train between these 2 cities? Is there any train of SFs category or AC SFs category exist? Udyan always run occupied upto SBC. Atleast there is a weekly train between Mumbai and Mysore via Hubli. But after this extension there will be no dedicated train between Mumbai & SBC. Even after so many years where IR has grown so much this line is still not completely doubled, electrification is pending rather pressurizing for speedy completion of these works MPs are interested to just extend trains for their vote bank interest.
Without increase in platforms in Mys and proper expansion of infrastructure in SBC they are extending trains to MYS to free up platform and stabling lines in SBC. Now to accommodate Udyan they are extending to CMNR and giving g a stoppage 30-60 mins at MYS for water filling and cleaning and PF attention this will surely take a toll on maintaiance of the trains.
Largely across twitter have seen mixed response on the same.....while earlier lots of extensions were appreciated, it seems now many of them have a
view that it is being stretched a bit too much. And as you have rightly pointed out MYS is getting congested and saturated. It was a blessing in disguise that since SBC wanted to free up platforms, it was all the more happy to extend trains
