After SMET RNR and Hassan Chikkamagaluru new lines distance between MYS UBL will reduced compared to present via Arsikere Birur route.? Or MYS ASK Birur SMET RNR UBL route will be shorter one?
Yes and No Both
🔹Birur-Shimoga-RNR (158 KM) and Birur-DVG-RNR (151 KM) So Not Much Of a Difference Here. Any Train Can Be Diverted Through Shivamogga Without Causing any Delays.. Mys/Sbc - Ubl Distance will be almost Same Through Smet...
🔹HAS-CMGR-DRU(110 KM_With LR) and HAS-ASK-DRU(86 KM) Considerable Distance and Loco Reversal it will Have Some Effects

So none of them are much for shorter distance but needful for connectivity purpose. If Tumkur Davangere get complete then YPR UBL distance will reduce bypassing ASK Jn.
