Near andal jn cabin, a Y-leg line(ss attached) is seen on google map. Is this y leg old or new? Why is it not used? If this is new, when will it get operational? If this line line is used, LR at Andal can be avoided, but it(vananchal) will also bypass Asansol. Asn can be connected by new train bet BGP-TATA via khana-asansol-adra. Both will not require LR.

Yes. But that is not big issue. I think they don't want to bypass asansol. So it is better to make andal bypass which can be also be done with slight realignment..

Dumka andal line may hv been costly due to masanjor dam and many rivers/waterbody/forest on south of dumka. If Dumka sainthia line could have been built which would hv saved 30km distance.
