Mr.Susairaj, General Secretary of South India Rail Passenger Association writes this Railway demand articles in Daily Thanthi news paper dt 26.01.2020.
Titled as EXPECTAION OF NEW TRAINS FOR TAMILNADU.(especially for the Southern Tamilnadu districts .)I translate from Tamil to English of his article.
Tamilnadu is very much lacking in getting new trains from Railways over Kerala.

MP s and elected people are united and achieved more new trains.
Southern district people have to be travelled to Chennai for business,Education, jobs etc.Most of the time train tickes are not available and depends on Buses only.
Surface Road transports are more accident prone.Tamilnadu state leads number 1 in road accidents and deaths .(Especially Trichy - Ulundurpettai - Villuppuram NH ).
Last 5 years, Kerala received the under mentioned new trains.
1)Punalur - Kanniyakumari passenger.2)Thiruvananthapuram- Delhi H.Nizamuddin weekly.3)Kassarkode - Mugambigai passenger.4)Kochuveli -ErodeWeekly train ×××
5)Earnakulam - Hatia weekly Express 6)Earnakulam - Antyodaya Weekly.7) Punalur - Palakkad daily Palaruvi expresses.8)Kochuveli -Mangaloru Biweekly Antyodaya.9)Kannur - Alapuzha daily.10)Kochuveli - Banaswadi Biweekly Humsafar.11)Kollam - Chennai Eggmore daily expresses.12)Earnakulam- Velankanni permanent weekly via Kollam, Shenkotai.
13)Kochuveli - Nilambur daily expresses.
Tamiknadu received the under mentioned trains in the last 5 years.
1)Tambaram - Nagercoil Antyodaya daily.2)Coimbatore - Bengaloru Udaya expresses.
3)Chennai - Madurai weekly expresses.4)Chennai Eggmore - Madurai Tejas expresses.5)Tambaram- Nagercoil Triweekly SF.6)Chennai Eggmore - Shenkottai Silambu Triweekly.
( Kerala new trains 1,4××,5,7Extended to Tirunelveli, 10,11,12 also new train for TN) .
Tambaram New Terminal station ( Grade 1 as Chennai Eggmore) also extensively utilized for additional Southern district trains operation.
Demanded 1)Tambaram - Nagercoil Triweekly SF frequency have to be increased to 5 days in a week as sanctioned and named as NANJIL EXPRESSES.
Good old long demands of 2)Nagercoil - Velankanni weekly have to be introduced as Nagercoil dep Saturday 5 pm to 6pm and Velankanni dep 6 pm.
3)Anandapuri expresses are operated as ordinary expresses for the past 18 years.Demanded to upgrade Anandapuri as SF with reduced running time and no SF over take it.
4) No trains are operated from Eggmore after 8.15 pm during the night time.So new daily expresses have to be operated around 9.15 pm ( my additional suggetion 11.55 pm one more expresses to Madurai) to Thiruvananthapuram via Trichy, Madurai,Kovilpatti, Tirunelveli and Nagercoil Town.
In Tamilnadu Kanniyakumari - Tirunelveli - Kovilpatti - Madurai - Trichy - Chennai Eggmore - Kummidipoondi section Railway line is available for the lenghth around 800km.
But most of the North bound trains are operated from Chennai only. Moreover, these most of the north bound trains have no stoppages in the 80 km Tamilnadu track stations.
The under mentioned trains / facilities are Demanded.
1) New Delhi -MGR Chennai Central present daily expresses have to be extended to Nagercoil via Eggmore,Trichy,Madurai,Kovilpatti and Tirunelveli.
2) Delhi H.Nizamuddin - Madurai Tamilnadu Sampark Kranti Biweekly expresses have to be extended to Thoothukkudi or Tirunelveli.
3) Chennai MGR Central - Nagercoil expresses have to be diverted via Karur and Dindugal without touching Trichy and so saved 2 hours of running time.
4)Chennai Eggmore - Shenkottai Silambu Expresses via Karaikkudi, Manamadurai and Aruppukkottai frequency have to be increaed from Triweekly to Daily.
5)New Main Line Electric Multiple Unit Shed has to be established in KOVILPATTI ( Thoothukkudi District s prime enroute station in Chennai - Kanniyakumari corridor) or Vanchi Maniyachi or Tirunelveli for facilitating more passenger train operations in the southern districts.
6) Requested to establish New Electric Loco Shed for maintenance of growing Electric Locos at KOVILPATTI or Vanchi Maniyachi or Tirunelveli.
