In continuation of past locos of IR, today it's turn of WCG 1. These locos were built by SLM Switzerland with traction equipment from Metropolitan Vickers. These employed a unique bogie design of C-C. This means, it had 2 traction motors with each motor driving 3 wheels through a connecting rod mechanism similar to that used in steam locos.
These had power rating of around 2250 HP and were homed at Kalyan Loco shed.
Introduced in 1928, these were classified as EF/1 till independence.

Are these locos known as crocodile? I have seen somewhere they often called it crocodile due to it's unique design.
