Kabakaputtur station was charming in the afternoon (12:15pm) with all things nice and tidy all around,Now it was time for my train 16516 Yesvantpur-Karwar Express to arrive on PF1,Had booked a seat in C1 Compartment.The station master(SM) started ringing the bell,My Wdm3a/KJM hauled 'Chuku Buku Railu' had Finally chugged into the platform,We boarded and the train started.I waved a green flag to the SM,indeed he knew me too and shouted 'Mathe ooringe banni!,(Do come to Town again in Kannada)
Awesome Flight-Like Journey experience,felt if the roof of my compartment was made of transparent glass,then it would been a Vistadome Coach,The Shiradi Ghats are one of the sections,every Railfan must transverse through altleast once.The bankers had accompanied us from SBHR,The scenery was just mesmerizing,could see many parvaths far off.As I stood staring at the edge of the door witnessing Exotic curves on a slow motion roller coaster,suddenly the train came to halt near Yedakumari waiting for crossing of 16575 Gomteshwara Exp..At that moment I wanted to slip away and wander along the ghats,tracks.. Soon we reached Sakleshpur 10min early,removed the bankers.With no Shops to be seen around,I bought a coffee from a vendor and stood on the fob,Could see the whole of the town from there,My emotions and Thoughts started flowing as sipped my Fresh Coffee….
Sat back in my seat,ate snacks and the train arrived at Hassan,xinging with 56215 ….
As Shravanabelagola station came,I leaned outside the door to see to the magnificent Gomteshwara Statue,..and came back to my seat.The train maintained an mps of 80kmph from Hassan to Nelamangala.The train was smoking throughout the journey with no overtakes and few xings,but it dominated the single track..
Soon we reached Chikabanavara(BENGALURU Suburb) 10 minutes early,Very busy station.I witnessed 16535 Gol Gumbaz Exp.zooming past the station and trains like 56516,16580..We departed BAW at 20:40 and soon…..Prayaanikara Gamanakke…We Had finally arrived at 'NAMMA BENGALURU',Platform 4 of Yesvantpur Station……
Would have been better if they had catering services too…
