There is only one train runs between Howrah and Kalka station, namely Kalka express which takes two nights to reach Kalka station from Howrah.I think that if a premium train start between Howrah and Kalka which will arrive Kalka at early morning then it will become very helpful for the tourist.And by traveling with this train the tourist can reach Kalka within one day.
There is a massive platform constraint at Kalka due to which even the existing kalka mail cannot go in full capacity.If you want a faster choice there are a number of great options from HWH/SDAH/KOAA to UMB like Humsafar,Jalliawala Bagh,Akal Takth and Durgiana express.There are a ample number of means to reach kalka from there.
Platforms length is short at Kalka Station. Even 24 coacher Kalka Mail can't fit in any of the platform that's why only few coaches go to Kalka. Also Kalka Mail is linked to Kalka - Shimla Shivalik Deluxe Express (if i am not wrong)
