an interview to a television channel Sheikh Rasheed admitted that the Indian Army is far superior to the Pakistan Army in conventional warfare. Therefore, Pakistan is working on miniaturised nuclear weapons.
He boasted about Pakistan having very small, very accurate and perfect atom bombs to target India all the way up to Assam, but "in a way that Muslims would be spared".
This is not the first time that Sheikh Rasheed has threatened India with tactical nuclear weapons. In September 2019, he boasted about Pakistan having nuclear weapons as small as 125-250 grams that will destroy only a targeted area.
Sheikh Rasheed's statement had come after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had threatened India with a military confrontation over Kashmir in 2019.
Sheikh Rasheed's current rant is being seen as a desperate attempt to divert attention from the disastrous visit of Pakistan Army Chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa to Saudi Arabia.
Some commentators in Pakistan say never was Pakistan insulted so directly and completely by Saudi Arabia like this time with the crown prince of Saudi Arabia His Royal Highness Mohammed Bin Salman refusing to give the Pakistan Army chief and director General of ISI an audience.
Saudi Arabia had told Pakistan to desist from spreading terror in Kashmir. Instead of complying, Pakistan's foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi virtually threatened Saudi Arabia to call an Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) meet on Kashmir or let Pakistan do so.
An angry Saudi Arabia put Pakistan in its place by telling Pakistan to repay the 3 billion dollar loan and also put restrictions on supply of oil to Pakistan.
