The origin of the name Chennai is a bit confusing, Chennaveerappa Naik or Chennappapattanam v/s Chennakesava Perumal Temple in George Town, Chennai. Of course, the more famous temple is at Belur Sir. So, he is also correct in saying CKP temple was behind the naming of the city. Till date there has been no answer. Why the old name Madras also had its share of confusion.
