No sir, PF3 is not being used very commonly. JRC mostly prefers mainline PF departures for trains from JAT side.

PF3 is used by trains coming from JAT early due to slack between PTKC and JRC. Swaraj group and Begampura are among those

Are you sure about this ? I have always spotted Begumpura at PF2, although I'm not sure about Swaraj group. Usually PF3 is only used when train from ASR overtakes train from JAT side, or vice versa. After lockdown, all trains were operated from PF1 and PF2 only, due to less traffic and faster track clearance (due to mainline departure).

I agree with all your points. See, almost all trains coming from PTKC side can cover PTKC-JRC section in 1h 30min easily and are provided with ample slack. Long ago, they were detained at Outer or at Suchi Pind. Nowadays, they are placed at PF3 ensuring that they don't block mainline by early arrival. In my opinion, updating PF2,3 here would be better :)

Yes, your point is fully valid and I completely agree. Trains are arriving BT. But due to less traffic, blocking mainline for 15-20 mins won't be a big issue. Otherwise JRC handles a lot of traffic :-D
In normal days, PF2 and PF3 were equally used. Trains were brought on PF2 when a DMU/Army train was parked on PF3 (quite common at JRC).
