New Route for SC-NDLS Rajdhani
The existing train is a weekly train and has poor patronage due to the existing SBC-NDLS Rajdhani (Daily) with better time table. Now a duronto has also been started with the same travel time but has non-ac Sl coaches as well and is bi-weekly.
After the gauge completion of Akola-Indore section, this rajdhani can be re-routed as follows:-
SC
...
- Nizamabad - Nanded - Akola - Indore - Ujjain - Kota - NDLS.
The route length will be about 1650-1700 km and at an avg speed of 70 kmph it will take 24 hrs .
Present rajdhani takes 21.5 hrs.
This will provide a rajdhani for the interior regions- telangana , marathawada and malwa. Patronage will be good as there will be travellers from nanded, akola and indore. Also there is no rajdhani from indore to delhi. It could be run as a tri- weekly.
