This was originally a Meter Gauge station which has been recently converted. It lies barely 1 km from Lucknow Jn though it is much less accessible. Trains which previously came to LJN(and had to undertake loco reversal since that is a terminal station) now bypass it via a stoppage here(and at BNZ as well). Some images include view of platform, front view and an empty GKP bound ICE via loop line.
I m very much nostalgic about Ash. After LJN mg being upgraded as BG terminus the MG trains were used to be originated or terminated here. Still I can recall my numerous rendezvous with ASH for boarding Nainital Exp at 8.50 pm enroute my various traveltrips towards kumaon whether it LKU or Tanakpur (slip coach) and later to Dudhwa tiger reserve (de boarding at MLN in early hiurs only to change over to Gonda pgr). Thanks for sharing bro.
