It has too many stops.Halts at many unwanted stations can be canceled to increase efficiency of train.
It seriously needs speeding up by atleast 1.5 - 2 hrs.
Another passenger train can be introduced to covered these stations.

It is true that it has as many as 18 halts between HYB-VSKP when compared with other trains in this route.Godavari is an ever green train and many would like to utilise this train due its convenient train timings on either side therefore it is more popular.As u said inspite of many halts still there is a chance to speed up further.Why not try NZB-VSKP train which very excellent and few halts.
This is a STATE EXPRESS. So every one from corners of the State needs access to this Train to go to Hyderabad.

Slack time is provided for express and super fast trains.On either direction the train reaches Anakapalle and warangal reaches in advance so Godavari can be speeded up by 1 hr.
