Railfan Yogesh Damlé had been fortunate enough to speak with Mrs. David. Here goes a small extract of the conversation:

We spoke this evening, and Mrs. David gave me a pleasant surprise.I was praying she doesn't break down, and she really was so calm, warm and at peace....

She was profusely praising and thanking the railfan fraternity for reaching out to her personally and virtually. She was immensly touched with how railfans (Dennis and Shan- two we know) rushed to Jabalpur managing crazy time-tables and she was worried for their safety too.

She was touched by the wish of many friends wanting to visit Swapnil's grave but couldn't do so, and when Swapnil's uncle arranged to send pics of his grave, she couldn't believe the response it evoked within half an hour. She got immense solace in the fact that there are so many children with their hearts for Swapnil.
Mrs. David has stated she'll put the contributions to the best use. Mrs. David would herself interact with the deserving students, jot their requirements and *directly* extend the help in *kind* (books, fees, uniforms, blazers, sweaters).
Mrs. David has moved in her with her mother now. She has expressly stated that the railfans have given her courage to stand up again. She said she's a far contrast today from that fateful day when she couldn't even utter a word. "I'm very sure Swapnil is making this happen for me from somewhere up there. He was a very sweet child. The peace I'm getting out of all this, I'm sure is Swapnil's design from the heavens." <3 :')

The family is now trying to have Swapnil's desktop opened despite not knowing his password. Mrs. David wants to unravel Swapnil's life as we railfans knew through his pics, trips and RF travelogues. She wants to cherish this treasure forever.

Now she uttered a chilling fact, that also gave me some degree of peace... Read on...**Swapnil's body was not mutilated or gored in any which way**.

A rail employee from her Ranjhi neighbourhood had seen Swapnil falling to his death. He was leaning out to shoot the loco on a turn. She saw Swapnil's body, and he only sustained an injury over his eyebrow and behind his temple, and there was not another injury on his body. She was at peace that Swapnil could be taken to hospital. "Junglee jaanwar ghoomte rahte hain, savere ka samay tha, maine unhe bhi itna thanks kahaa. Mujhe lagta hai haemorrage tha, spot death tha" (didn't endure longlasting pain.) He was taken to JBP in a 16 hour road journey.

"You won't believe Yogesh, entire Jabalpur was present for his funeral. Even the priest was shocked to see so many people, and kept wondering itne logon ka itna pyaar, 17 saal ke is bachche ne kahaan se batora- kaise. All he said that It was an accomplishment many people don't get even after seventy years. Everyone was full of praise and fond memories of Swapnil."

"After such an exit, I firmly believe Swapnil is with god, and will never cry for him, will only pray for him, for my child is showing these signs to me."

"I'm much better, and have returned back to my work. I only used to weep for the first 15 days, but my sister from Mumbai would call me up every day. Please tell all his friends that I'm fine."

We are progressing at a speed which is almost decent but still far from good enough.

Friends, I'm so so so very proud of- and thankful to all those who have come forward so far. Amazingly, an anonymous, large-hearted Railfan has sent in almost 25% of our total current collection, which is really touching, and worth a bow! <3
