My ticket status is now RAC 100. I opted for a side lower berth. What are the chances that I can get one? Will the ticket allotment system gives me any kind of edge during allotment as I have selected the side lower berth at the time of booking?
Please let me know.
Thank you. :)

No.. IT wont.. In RAC it is lottery.. anything may happen. it you get lower berth then it is lucky..
Although the side lower berths if vacant are allotted to RAC Passengers, yet if u haven't even opted for Side Lower also, you could have got it had ur ticket remained RAC after charting. But till the ticket gets confirmed you can not occupy the seat as a berth. According to me ticket system will not give any preference on this basis. All the best and hope ur ticket gets confirmed.
rac is not at all related to ur berth pref given..if it gets cnf u will get birth randomly..and if it remains in rac u will have to share sl with another passenger thats it!
When ever i bought RAC ticket all time it got conformed except once, if it gets conformed & Side Lower Berth is available (if cancelled by any former ticket holder or in railways quota) 'll' be given to the person whom had aaplied for Side Lower Berth, it is as per my logic...
Once i took RAC 002 in HWH MUMBAI MAIL for me and my dad both given choice for an Lower Berth, and we got alloted 2 Lower Berths that was, 65LB and 68LB in S-3 coach...

Since u had low RAC numbers you got LB... once i had low rac number and i asked for UB but still got LB.... i guess they start giving LBs first irrespective of choice.
