rhythmsofrail^~ 8620 blog postsWDG6G (GE) alias Angad resting at Shaktinagar, I was just passing by on NH39 but got the glimpse of this rare visitor and wondering what it is doing in fully electrified section That only motivated me to visit the station. It was quite long time i had visited Shaktinagar, Since COVID no trains to arrive or depart expect freights. The station is going under full remodeling and to be built as a terminal staton to serve Singrauli region . 2 new platforms are under construction , current PF 1 will become PF 3 in upcoming 6 month. PF lengths are also increased to cater 24 coach train. Finally good days for people of the region, Until the station gets completed i believe that Triveni express will be cancelled.

Yes , indeed but for those purposes i expected WDM3a or WDG4 or even NTPC diesel locos which will do service till SKTN yard and from there e-locos will take charge. Also I have seen NTPC Rihand and NTPC vindhyachal locos very frequent giving duties in Sktn-sgrl section (Occasionally NTPC kudgi , kahalgaon, Talcher ) , But seeing a WDG6C is very rare and unexpected here.

Yes...I agree...DG6G is a rare catch indeed, specially here...I have also encountered NTPC shunters on this section. Nowadays, PTRU WDG/WDP are common sight rather than WDM/DG3... I would request you to post pics of Triveni with an e loco if possible whenever it's service resumes after completion of the terminal...Still, Diesel locos outnumber e-locos on this particular section.
It ill take 2 years to complete , deadline has been shifted to 2023 for KRLR-SKTN. The bridge at anpara is the mammoth task what railway has to deal with for doubling of this section.
Work is going at good pace...on priority basis obviously. .Biggest hurdle is the bridge at Anpara outer. GoW movie had also one scene on this bridge.
