why bookings are allowed for WL till 300 or even 400 some times.?Whether the IR feels that more than 200 passengers will cancell the ticket???

Ya revenue is ok.oops 1000WL.may be dependent on the no: seats available.I heard position in WL will change a lot at the time of cahrt preparation you have any idea about it???
Could u pl give us trains running in that route, no of coaches, tatkal quota etc.And then why railways allowing empty trains in other routes?

Yes, your opinion is 100% correct. But it is only for private business setup, that too who do business with out any ethics. We know our IR is operates it's service with social obligations and business ethics, not only for earnings.
If; only earning is main criteria, then what for, so many concession ?

In Konark Express/1020 sometimes its WL#500 lets assume the fare Rs.500 oh God a revenue of 2.5 lack for a single train, in single class on a single day to which the railway utlises the fund in between 90 days
When the seat is not confirmed railway returns the fare less Rs.20 oooh
But out of WL500 around 50% will travel as its urgent to go or TTE ko de leke nikal lenge ;)

In case of 0111 (Konkankanya express) the waitlist is running high because of Ganesh Festival in Konkan area starting from 11 Sept. People board this train without confirm tickets. Many passengers get down at various stations in the night and then waitlist people occupy those seats. Very rarely new passengers board the train at these stations. This train already has 23 coaches and additional coaches are not feasible. Railways allow such high booking just for the sake of earning mush higher revenue (cash float) for 90 days.
