Jan 15 2022 (14:55) 18047/Shalimar - Vasco-da-Gama Amaravati Express (PT) | VSG/Vasco-da-Gama (3 PFs)

sunilgaonkar 92 blog postsThe 18047/48 SHM VSG Amaravati express is a nostalgic train as it was running then between BZA VSG on daily basis prior to gauge conversion. The frequency was increased from biweekly to quadruply infact it should be converted to daily. It should be speeded up between the newly doubled GTL TNGT section and also converted into SF by reducing unnecessary stops. The existing departure timings from VSG must be changed to 9 a.m.

The TPTY/HYB VSG weekly express exists so the proposal was accepted, this can easily be converted to biweekly.
Not this SCR had dedicated biweekly train from SC to VSG proposal last year.
This I heard was rejected by SWR citing Ghat constraints. If this was accepted TPTY VSG and HWH VSG would have run with dedicated rakes and HWH VSG most probably LHB rake.

I understand but early morning departure from VSG is not preferable for trains originating from Goa, LHB is the future of IR but it will gradually be done by SWR.
On similar schedule VSG JSME is running now on different day. Dedicated train required very badly between VSG to SC.
