Stunning parallel action with a smoking WDM- 3D!!! Yesvantpur Muzaffarpur Express vs dancing EMU
.
.
Sometimes some absurd decisions by the track and station managers can yield some exciting actions for railfans like us.
While...
more... going on a short evening railfanning trip, our horribly late running Sealdah- Dankuni EMU was made to halt at Dankuni Junction outers for more than 15 minutes, because a freight was running in front of us. Instead of allowing the EMU to pass first, the freight, which was coming from SER's A.C.C. line (Additional Chord Connector) via Bhatanagar was given preference first, due to which we were also made to halt at Rajchandrapur, the penultimate station before Dankuni, for almost half an hour.
On the other hand, to give preference to JHS WAG- 7 hauled 12495 Bikaner (BKN)- Kolkata Chitpur Terminal (KOAA) PRATAP Weekly Superfast Express (which was late by more than 3 hours), the half an hour late running 11247 HWH WDM- 3D hauled 15227 Yesvantpur (YPR)- Muzaffarpur (MFP) Weekly Express was made to halt for quite a long time on the HB Chord line.
When the video starts, you can find the tail of the PRATAP Superfast Express. As it clears out, the alco furiously starts chugging and smoking to accelerate with the 23 coach mammoth load. Almost simultaneously, the freight (which was in front of us) clears in the loop line, and we get the proceed order towards platform- 1. And as a result, we witness a short but beautiful parallel action through the numerous points and crossings. Finally we coast and retard while entering the platform, and the Express makes its way through platform- 2 towards Burdwan.
Dankuni Junction always remain infected with mamas and mamus. So took the video with a bit of risk, and ended early. Hope you all will enjoy it. Giving me company on the trip was railfan Riksanyal.
YPR- MFP Express uses the Yesvantpur- Bangarapet- Jolarpettai- Katpadi- Arrakonam- Chennai Central- Vijaywada- Vishakapatnam- Khurdah Road- Bhubaneshwar- Kharagpur- Howrah- Bolpur Shantiniketan- Rampurhat- Malda Town- Katihar- Barauni- Samastipur- Muzaffarpur route, and covers 2722 kms in its journey.
