12167/68 must be extended to AYC via BSB-JNU-SHG-AY.

I think so too, as the booking was suspended from September onwards, but got re-opened recently. Guessing it was due to re-composition for lhb upgrade. No notifications from CR however.
Already many trains from Mumbai to Varanasi have been extended to Gorakhpur via many different routes. Only 12167/68, Kamayani and Mahanagari remain as dedicated trains from Mumbai to Varanasi.
However, timings for 12167 need to change since it reaches BSB at 1:30 AM, which is not ideal. Early morning departure from LTT should help.
