SWR or SR should have introduced a good Overnight train in this route. It would have benefitted Cuddalore chidambaram and other delta area. Now this is day time express train at snail speed.
Earlier, it was YPR SA FP. At that time, it used to cover the distance in 5.15 hours. Now as express, it can cover in less time. Just curtail this train to Salem. It can be like a shadow train to ETD ICE in both directions.

SR

is not running any passenger train in Salem Cuddalore line. How come SWR is asked to handle this much deep into SR territory? Will SR run any train from Chennai or Salem to interior Karnataka like Chitradurga/ Shivamogga/ Davangere?
If MV / Cuddalore/ Attur region wants a train to Bangalore, SR can run it.

The govt in co-ordination with BMTC, pvt cabs (Ola,Uber) and even govt recognised cab operators should look at creating a system where connectivity is improved from the railways station ( Buses, auto, cabs). I guess only when more daily trains start shifting there will the station be utilised to full potential. Maybe it would not be a bad idea to shift couple of intra state trains and few important interstate daily trains as well. Railways has done their bit, operationalized the terminal. Now it is the turn of local authorities to enhance connectivity.

Railways can do better. They can start few trains from SMVB towards Mysore, Shivamogga Hubli.
In the morning hours, there are trains terminating at SBC from Mysore side. Atleast one can go to SMVB.
Similarly, one of the Shivamogga train can go from BAW on YPR bypass line to SBC via SMVB BNC.

of the Tumkur bangalore train can be diverted via SMVB to Airport.
Such moves will make SBC little less crowded. Now, no Trains are there from BNC BYPL SMVB towards Tumkur line.

Yes correct...This will give more visibility to the station. At least from initial feedback when I went to the station happened to see a lone BMTC bus standing. As per feedback from the conductor, due to very limited set of trains starting and terminating from here, there are hardly any passengers for these BMTC buses. Most of the terminating trains have an odd time of arrival at the station 3:45am-4:15am. Majority of passengers in any case get down at KJM. As of now there are very few takers for these services
