It was introduced as Mumbai Solapur overnight express instead of intercity. Later got extended until Gadag. Used to be a 6 days a week train previously (if I remember correctly). It was changed to daily by canceling ltt hubballi weekly express via Gadag.
Currently, it is running as 11139/40 Mumbai CSMT Gadag express. The train was introduced as an express train between Mumbai and Solapur, then it was converted to Super fast after a year or two. But it was converted back to express train after its extension to Gadag.
