i have booked 2 tatkal tickets (1 pnr) in 3AC. After booking the one of the ticket is Confirmed and other one is WL 7..
I also selected the option tat i want all the tickets in the same compartment.
I am planning to book tickets in SL where now 50 tickets are still available..
Can you please advice me whether i can cancel...

for the CNF ticket you wont get ant refund amount. for the WL one you will get 750-20-others=around 700.
You will get no refund for one tatkal ticket since its confirmed,other one you will get amount paid by you minus reservation charges and service tax..

but my parents need to travel by any mean on that train...
do i need to wait till the charting time to see any progress? or shall i proceed booking SL tickets..

if you have no problem with losing money 700 rs!!! then cancel the ticket and book in SL.. If you are will to take risk, wait for the chart preparations.
