I am seeing this town after 44 years since my days of residing in a company quarters at Amlai in 1978. I studied second standard in a school at some place on the way to Shahdol which I do not remember now and one day got into a wrong route school bus instead of the school bus that goes to Amlai in the evening and I was dropped into school again and later on was informed to my family and they came took me and hence I was discontinued in that school and later on next year we moved to south to Trichy. We used to go for monthly shopping by office bus from Amlai to Shahdol. That office bus used to travel through a railway crossing at Amlai and then pine forest later on for some distance.
