I don't understand why these trains have to run via the main routes,When there are alternate paths available.This could run uptill Salem the go via DG-MADURAI-SCT-PUU-QLN-KTYM.Thereby benefiting 2 state pilgrims (TN and KA) and thereby reduce congestion on the Trivandrum Mainline.(I am not sure of the traffic on the Salem Madurai Line).Any suggestions?
Anyway, The specials are low priority super crawlers.So why not on a low MPS route.Rake can consists of 16 coaches
U should ask sr why it's running on main line from mas to kollam atleast sr trains could have gone via your proposed route

Similarly we have another train from North KA to Kollam. 07361/2 BGM - QLN - BGM Spl via Hubballi. This train BJP - QLN - BJP could have given alternate route in KA/SWR region also via GDG - HPT - BAY - CTA. Now both spl trains are via UBL/DVG only.
SWR prioritizes its main line. I am happy that atleast SWR gave a spl with so many trips which it self is a surprise.
