A mixed train prepares to depart Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, January 1977, headed by 2' gauge 2-8-2 NH/4 locomotive #758 (Baldwin Locomotive Works, Philadelphia, builder's number 74070 of 1948). Construction of the Gwalior Light Railway commenced in 1893, an initiative of Maharaja Madhavro Scindia. Scindia State Railways eventually the railway consisted of 474km of 2’ gauge lines, serving hundreds of villages. The last of these narrow gauge lines was closed in 2020, to be replaced by broad gauge.
Wow great to see that I hope you share more and more old picture of GLR and gwalior because GLR become history now..I think it is platform no. 5 of narrow gauge...
