IR and RB have stopped production of EMU local trains in 2022-23. No order to 3 government PU's as per production plan 2022-23.
SER having huge shortage of EMU rakes, could not start many trains due to rake shortage also many trans running with MEMU rakes
ER is also having huge shortage of EMU rakes, old rakes r used and can be fatal anyday. SDAH Division still not having all 12 coach EMU trains.

Haldia DEMU Factory is no more used for new coaches. It was for DEMU coaches, now DEMU coaches r not produced by IR. In between SER used it as an alternate to KGP Workshop for POH activity of coaches. Now Closed again. Infrastructure is getting destroyed due to no use.
Yes i also feel RB, can utilise it for EMU and MEMU production.
