I have a query, will appreciate if people can explain. Why do trains passing via Visakhapatnam have a mandatory 20 mins halt for the reversal? Actual halt time at Visakhapatnam is even more.
On the other hand, Himsagar express reverses in Erode and halts for only 5 mins and generally sticks to the schedule. There are many such instances. Any possible reasons?

Train Follow WTT Whereas Info Available In Public Domain Is PTT. PTT May Or May Not Reflect Halt Time Required For Reversal.
Vskp has Loco change, washrooms cleaning, coach underneath preliminary checking attending to any AC issues, watering, food and catering for travellers on the whole its a mini maintainance center for trains which have already completed halfway of the distance. Loco is attached 10-15mins and is ready but due to order activities it's given 20mins.
