This is a success on one side. But day by day implications of the other side is visible now. Ranchi Airport is basically used as a round trip fuel station by airlines. JH Govt. reduced tax to 4% to build this legacy. Airfare thus was initially quoted lower than all nearby 4C capable airports.
Now airlines have started to exploit these indirect incentives. Indigo specifically is using monopoly routes to justify their incremental fare. Apparently, the benefits are absorbed by the company leaving only penny discounts for the flyers.

Even Lucknow has no connectivity via rail to RNC despite being more closer than Jaipur.
Not yet commissioned as I have seen the same at DFCCIL Website. It is expected to be commissioned by next few months.
